Those of you with big stacks of crypto, how does it feel to check your portfolio and see it go up and down thousands of dollars at a time? Specifically when it goes down

I'm only seeing it going up by 10k a day right now. I keep autistically checking it hoping for every new mile marker.

between last august and october when everything was in a slump, I was down about 40% from my august high at the time. During that time I just stopped checking things, stopped checking /biz/, focused on other things, and tried not to think about it.

The first time you reach these heights and lose thousands it hurts so, so much
Couldn’t sleep etc
It does get better once you think of your stacks in the crypto denomination as opposed to the dollar value. I know it seems like a meme, but it isn’t and is also a good test if you actually have an absolute ticking shitcoin or you can be happy owning and using it in future.
Ex: I can always utilize bitcoin and ethereum on their networks and will have a certain amount available that will let me interact with the chains. It is always valuable.
Ex: I can always utilize UNI/CRV/MKR in their respective voting protocols as well as earn fees
Ex: I can never use LINK for anything outside of selling it higher to someone at the hopes that I sold the highest. This is a shitcoin sign

I simply don't look at it and don't think about it. I live frugally, get paid well, and fucking hate my job. Plus, I have a fat stack of emergency cash if I need to get the hell out of dodge, so I feel financially secure.

I figure when I hit my target amount, I'll consider selling some of it. Not selling before then because it's really a hedge against banks and fiat more than a moonshot to escape poverty.

As others said, you get used to it. If you’re a 5k portfolio poorfag and your shit drops to 4K it feels about the same as a 500k portfolio dropping to 400k. It’s because I’ve been through it so many times that I’m fairly resistant to panic and turmoil because I know over the long run it will pump back sooner or later.

When I first invested there was a day that I lost 5k worth of gains and my whole day was ruined. I felt worse that day than I did last March when my portfolio went from 80k to 26k. You just get used to it.
