how has the ledger leak affected you?
i get an average of 1-2 street shitter emails per day, today was especially bad since i got 6

honestly feel like a retard for buying a ledger instead of generating an address with MEW or metamask like a normal person
instead i bought a ledger for "extra safety" (lmao) like a schizo, only to make things 100x times worse for me (all my info was leaked)

how are the rest of you holding up?

Here is how to stop this and fuck with the spammers:

1. Look at the email headers, find the IP block they are using for their mail servers (usually they are being rented from a legit company by scammers)
2. Do a reverse IP lookup to see who owns those servers
3. Contact the owner of the mail servers and report that "illegal content is being sent from their servers". Lie and say it's CP, blackmail, threats, etc so they respond more seriously
4. Provide the email headers to the owner of the mail servers
5. The company will ban the accounts of the spammers and they will have to switch to another provider which fucks up their whole operation bigly

t. my spam inbox went from 500+ emails per week to about 3-5 emails per week

>What they want?
it's mostly phishing, can be safely ignored but still annoying

>Did they leaked all data of all the hardware wallet users or what? wtf
at least 275.000 buyers had ALL their info leaked (including phone number and address). pretty fucked up especially in the crypto space
the leaks got uploaded on the internet and now every pajeet from delhi to mumbai tries his luck at scamming

my main schizo-tier worry was spyware potentially getting my private address when generated on MEW, but on retrospect it was so fucking stupid

such malware is no threat to people like me who use an adblock and don't fall for mp4.exe files
even if you get malware, it is unlikely to be anything sophisticated like that

i feel so fucking stupid...

I feel your pain. I've been getting the most ridiculous text messages for months now. I really don't want to deal with changing my phone number though.

my spammers just use hijacked domains to send emails

kinda fucked up those fags lost the data. This should be end to the company, fucking losing customer data in crypto space. Pretty dangerous when you think about it.

That's actually pretty unlikely. Do you mean they constantly change domain names? If so, they are probably just registering them rapidly (100+ domains per day) and using VPS providers to send email from them. Send an email to the VPS providers or whoever owns the IPs they are using

>I really don't want to deal with changing my phone
only got 3-4 sms on my phone since the leak about my ledger "being hacked"
not a huge problem, but i removed phone number authentication with software authentication wherever i could to avoid potential SIM swapping

fuck ledger
fuck france
and fuck me

no its actual legit hacked domains, just stolen and probably sold to spammers

The email server is different from the registered domain. I could send an email from pajeet@scamcoin.finance using Google's email servers. In this case, only Google can stop me, not the owner of scamcoin.finance
If someone emailed Google's abuse team, they could stop my use of their email servers

>buying a ledger
i just keep it all on the exchange.
you really think binance and coinbase are going to get hacked when they have the best infosec teams in the crypto space?
compare that to some faggy french startup making glorified usb drives

well if someone hacks a domain there is a good chance the hosting of emails if there is any is on the same hosting

Maybe, but that's irrelevant and doesn't change my original post. 90% of domains are hosted on major sites like godaddy who respond to abuse complaints
I know this because I sent about 20 emails to various hosting/VPS providers with abuse reports and details, and now my spam is down by about 99.5%
