What's the point of accumulating more money if you don't even have anything you want to purchase?

>financially secure in early 30s
>own my home
>couple hundred k in investments
>career I don't mind and pays decent

what is my financial motivation now? it's all so tiresome.

At the very least, you should save for retirement.

Seek pleasure. You have lived your whole life avoiding pain, which you have accomplished. You should have been doing the opposite, which is to seek pleasure and then your motivation in life will never, ever ,end no matter how much you obtain

we have a lot of retirement savings and my wife will get a pension hopefully

what do you mean by pleasure? life's greatest pleasures are pretty cheap. Hiking in nature, reading, listening to music, spending time with my kid. These cost little to nothing.
Or are you a teenager that thinks fucking whores is life's greatest pleasure?

Giving your children every possible opportunity without spoiling them.
If you don't have children life is pointless and you should rope.

I do have a kid and we've already set up a fund that becomes available at 18 and we'll be gradually adding to it over the years.
