I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.
Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.
'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.

The top 100 wallets control 85% of the supply of this coin and it's not exchanges. Binance, the biggest exchange owns ~2% of total supply. Your investment can be quite literally wiped out overnight without a moments notice. Going all into this project is probably one of the stupidest things you can do with your money but retards like you keep lining up thinking you are the next Warren Buffet. Chainlink is so far from a sure thing.

However, discussing this crypto I came across some FUD, which may or may not be correct. I cannot debunk the FUD, however, and the FUD stands in my way to invest in this project.

The arguments are:

The mainnet is not decentralized and right now, only centralized oracles exist

There's no good strategy to eventually decentralize the oracles. The argument is that Chainlink decentralization is like the Coordicide problem of IOTA, which is currently unresolved in reality (I also hold some IOTA and think the team might pull off coordicide)

Partnerships aren't real partnerships, contrary to what is advertised. One counterargument against the FUD I found is that the Reddit threads listed above are skeptical of the SWIFT partnership, which has held out to be true after their publication. Right now, a simple Google search tells me that there is something real to the SWIFT-Chainlink partnership. I'm less certain about the Google partnership right now.

Team holds too much LINK (I don't necessarily agree with that argument, as the LINK holdings of the team can help grow the network through investment)

The token is not needed for decentralizing oracles (I think this argument is disingenuous, prima facie).

Would be really interested to know what your counterarguments against this Chainlink FUD are. Thanks a lot for your input!!

He said he had a few sensors up in his ass, which were giving highly reliable real-time data of his stomach’s condition and bringing that information reliably to the smart contract, which will automatically trigger the insurance payment when needed. He then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think Chainlink’s oracle network is working anyway.
After she agreed on the contracts service agreement and demanded the payment for the hamburgers, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly and said “I find Burger King fundamentally better anyway”.
