I wagecuck in retail and got promoted to manager. Our franchisee is a notorious kike (we were the only location not to get Christmas bonuses, he also pays less than other franchises in the city) but I still need a raise. I currently make $14 an hour, I’ve been there a year and a half, and the company average for a manager is $20. I also know more than most other managers bc I’ve worked in more departments than them. Is it weird to request a $6 raise from some jew manlet? Anyone got experience with this shit?

Ok this sounds extreme wagecuck, but hear me out. It's some actual advice.

First work at least for a year as manager so you can at least escape to an other shop if you don't get a raise. Then ask for a raise to 23. If he asks why tell him you got more responsibilities last year and you achieved to company goals so now it's time to get paid as a manager. If he says no, then ask him what he can offer. He will jew you like I can give you 17 etc. Say that you think about it. Now for the weeks coming get a few odd days off. Make it a mystery what you are going to do, so people will fill in the blanks that you are looking for an other job. Get back to him and tell him that 17 isn't enough and that it needs to be at least 20. He will take the offer if it's hard to replace you because he is scared you already got something going at an other place.

this but on the odd days off actually do interview with other places and determine your market value. and interview with the other franchises you work at and explain your situation. you have to be willing to walk during negotiation

Let's say hypothetically that OP was given an unprompted raise of $1 just as his plan to ask for a bigger raise was about to unfold. How does one go about unironically looking the gift horse in the mouth in a situation like this and telling your boss the raise was an insult?

it might be a little awkward but just be respectful and honest. you appreciate the raise but you’ve been doing research and with your position and competence the market says you should be making $x
