the graph takes data from the blockchain and sends it to decentralized apps like uniswap who can just do it themselves or check it on etherscan.
They're not even playing in the same league, the reason link is at 4 billion $ mc and not 40b$ (or 100b$ in an ideal world) is the same reason grt will stay at 700m$ mc and if it was an ideal world would go to 7b$ mc, add the huge supply and it becomes a shitcoin.
I'm not fudding the graph project it works well and adds value etc... but the token won't pump anytime soon.
