Why isn't there any retail interest in Bitcoin this bullrun?

In 2017, normoids were going crazy for BTC. This time they are oblivious.

Bitcoin isn't the only way to protect yourself from inflation. Stocks are less volatile and you can choose exactly the amount of risk management that you are comfortable with

BTC can go up much faster than my stocks, it can also go down much faster. If I have to wagecuck and also find time to do normie activities when corona-chan goes away, I don't want the stress wondering if my BTC investment is going to disappear because governments brought in new financial regulation

A normie lacks intellectual capacity to process changes and self discipline to acknowledge their mistake.

Your typical normie learned that Bitcoin is a bubble because it crushed. True, by late 2017 we were in the bubble, however normies do not have any ideas what caused it - and how the industry is different today. All they were able to grasp is that BTC and bubble were frequently in the same sentence and small normie's brain made irreversible conclusion that BTC = bubble.

This is why normies think they are "not making same mistake again" by staying away from crypto at the moment. What really happening though is normies losing their chances to at least make up their losses from previous crash - or even make some good profit.

They will join again eventually, after cryptocurrency reports will be broadcasted through normie TV channels on daily basis, their favorite celebrities will be endorsing it etc. At this point, however, it will already be the end of the current cycle and once again normies will lose their life savings, most probably - on some blatantly obvious scams.
Such is the fate of a normie.

$XED sale on Polkastarter is in 1 hour btw, you know what to do friends.

normie here,

with Bitcoin there is no short term potential.
It may give 100-300%, but can dip any time. Not much better than normal stocks, with much higher risks.

I prefer buying dips.

Robinhood and wallstreetbets is the latest craze this past year.

You could get a few thousand percent gains with calls and puts in a matter of days or weeks.

Bitcoin and altcoins aren't mooning as fast.

Plus there are lots of trading fees with crypto, while robinhood is basically no fees for trading

The first retail bullrun was because btc went from literally nothing to 19k and early users were accidentally becoming millionaires. Massive fomo effect. Normies aren't excited by the prospect of doubling or tripling their money over the next 5 years, which is a more realistic prospect now, they want to invest $1000 and then be set for life.

the price fud is cute but all it'll take is for coinbase to stop pricing BTC and start pricing mBTC (1/1000)
