Now for me that's not too much but it essentially killed my gains for the last two months.

Don't invest in China, people. Stay with your US or boomer UK stocks or whatever. For the first time I understand why these stocks have such a low price over there. I took the stability of US stocks for granted and that's what I paid for that lesson.
