Ethereum is the next best shot
Either you’re right and the only shot at any blockchain crypto incentive is btc for a payments chain
Or the general purpose blockchain meme is real too, at least in some form, which means ethereum is a hodl material too. The way I see it, blockchains aren’t going anywhere, unfortunately btc does not do many things outside of payments, ethereum has all of the development and innovation right now, so it is the best bet at a public general blockchain there is today

anything valuable that ETH can do will be added to bitcoin (and is already happening - for example stablecoins moving to liquid).

>> No.25111293

Eth doesn't have a set marketcap like bitcoin and there are already 5x as many Eth coins as Bitcoin.

Bitcoin: 21,000,000 total (there will never be more)

Ethereum: 113,957,065+ and counting

Everyone claiming Ethereum will be worth $5k/coin is literally retarded. It doesn't even matter how usable Ethereum comes. There's already too many in circulation.

I wish, I really do. But that is not the case at all, not even close in fact. There is a lot more wrapped bitcoin on ethereum than on lightning. There are several orders of magnitude of useful things more that are happening on ethereum rather than btc
Just take stablecoins, like tether transfers or DAI, which is impossible in btc currently. Even if you consider it scammy, it is useful.
The culture of bitcoin, at least the last 7 years, have been extremely toxic to ANY innovation outside of the approved cockslap of approval from the bitcoin core team. That set the tech advance on bitcoin by a lot, so blame them.
Eventually? Maybe. But ethereum is quickly taking and embedding this value in itself for the long term, and has been for the last 2 years in an extreme manner.
It is at the very least a pretty solid bet.
Btc isn’t a bad thing to hold tho, by no means, but ETH is certainly up there.

>> No.25111531

>>25111293
This is very simple — the way it’s looking is all of the long term settlement of any kind will be on public blockchains, and ethereum will be the primary settlement layer or at least one of. Currently around 100+ trillion is being settled in worldwide financial networks. 40 years from now, that will be way more and most of it on public blockchains.
You do the math how much each eth will be, but my estimates come out to around $52,000/ETH in today’s dollars.
