I dunno my dad's exactly. But I look for very volatile stock and then look up news about them, their earnings, their future potential. Electric vehicles, for example, are a rollercoaster ride. TSLA is going ape escape crazy every single day to the point it's basically gambling with an inclination towards bulls. All other EV companies were being unsteady around election because Biden was good news for EVs, Trump was good news for oil.

Right now my eye is on WKHS. They are finalists for a contract with the USPS, but the USPS keeps delaying the decision. As a shareholder, the awareness is if you buy shares now at $20, you could moon if they get picked and the delays don't hurt since you can just hold on and wait.

But a options trader notices that the price of WKHS always spikes whenever there is good news, and hits ~$30 near the contract announcement date as people buy in expecting tendies. So now I'm thinking of buying calls at a strike of 27 or 29 set to expire after the new announcement date, and just sell my options when/if the price does that again.
