The gas fees based on the ethereum network is the main problem here. Pols is the major example of polkadot projects that has potential but the major issue during that mvp was the hugh charges.

Have you ever seen a fully working 2nd layer? It's all a scam. Only 1st layer matters. And that can be only archived by parachains, or increasing block size, which is kinda the same. Parachains just feel more decentralized to redditors.

First of, altseason is months away at least. Second, no one gives a shit about gas fees because the ones that are putting any real money into alts are either whales that can afford it or companies/projects that need to use the platform (and they also dont care because they have bots/algos to help them save schmeckles). ETH is not going away anytime soon because any decent project in crypto not up its own ass will use the dominant system. I personally think Cardano will make some waves in 21 but i just dont see it taking over ETH's 20 billion dollar DAILY trading volume. Any outside investors coming into crypto (as in the guys that are actually driving the price of btc up) will naturally pick the perceived safest platform which is ETH-only making it worth more and harder to replace.

You should buy altcoins that perform a specific function not "eth killers". My picks and predictions:

the polkadot platform is one of the bridges that was a necessity to be constructed and built. So they managed to get them up and working with less fee that eth, which is good for both sides - healthy competition. In a perspective polkadot and its projects on the platform have so much potential since they can combine and fuse (lets say) anything they want. like they combined defi nft xed betting and a safe environment for all users
