There was speculation that if bitcoin increased in price first there would be only one alt season. If the alts increase first, there would be two. Bitcoin is not repeating what it did in 2017-18, but rather 2013-14.

With only 1 alt season, we get once burst of price increase, 1 or 2 months worth. With 2 alt seasons we would have had 4-5 months of altcoin bullrunning.

There is always the chance that 2020-21 is something different altogether. Solid chance of that as well.

I don't buy that, I'm looking at it purely from it's technical and utility standpoint, it's not designed to be a one world currency, but it's designed to be the backbone in the sense that it facilitates interaction with CBDC's. When you take into account the speed at which transactions would be made and completed simultaneously, disregarding the amount of coins held locked up in accounts on their own, these tokens would be locked in the sense that they are untouchable due to the speed they're being utalised - hence the need for a high value to be available at all. Also in the sense of out performing bitcoin, I don't know if this is a fringe belief, but I don't see bitcoin retaining it's dominance in the long term
