I didn’t really tell the full story, we talked for awhile then both gradually stopped texting each other for some reason. I reached back out like a year later and we reconnected, but I was going through some shit at the time and lost all interest in girls and my social life so I stopped trying after some time. When I was in a better place months later and realized how much of a fucking idiot I was it was too late. We are still on okay terms, I wished her happy birthday a month ago and she still likes some of my statuses. I also apologized to her earlier this year for essentially ghosting her and she seemed real chill about it, though she was dating the other guy at the time already. The guy she’s with already has a kid, which when we dated she talked like she could never date a guy with a kid so I know in some way she settled and probably thinks about what could have been as well. I still remember seeing her snap one night a couple years ago during our intial fizzle out of her being being drunk and saying “fuck you, you broke my heart.” I think about this often, sadly. Thanks anon, this unironically made me feel a little better. I like my current gf a lot but I just don’t feel the same way about her.
