I'm pissed off about the dilution but I'm not as blind to the objective of debt/equity rebalancing as most people here. You know the volatility we have experienced, that comes from the low number of shares being traded, and it's not ideal for management. It raises borrowing costs for one thing.

If the bankruptcy uncertainty goes away market cap will rise even with $100 million dilution. I can't position myself after the uncertainty clears up, it will be too late. If this is the CHWY of videogames, my god we're going to be rich. Forget that, even the current board will probably survive bankruptcy, with that I'm just looking for a $2 billion valuation while there's still less than 90 million shares outstanding, how about that for a conservative target? $22.22 a share.

I think it's easy to look at GME, see their ~7 billion revenues for past 12 months and think they should be valued at 0.25x or even 0.5x of revenues. But Q3 showed that's very naive and/or speculative. They're still very overextended and couldn't turn a profit when pretty much the whole b&m sector managed to do it thanks to tax benefits. It was very discouraging to see revenues to keep declining faster than they're reducing SG&A costs. Revenues to continue declining hard as they seek to close 1000 more stores. Note that as per Q2, they recapture <40% of sales from closing down those stores. Makes it fallacious to compare revenues to market cap when Gamestop might close off the European stores too. No one asked about the Microsoft partnership during the call so no details about that either (they prob wouldn't have answered anyways). Lastly I'm not too sure how to feel about November only being 16.5% YoY sales, even if new consoles were limited, the sales of Switches should have been a huge boon this season

Yes you have a point there but this was expected, if not quite this bad, at the end of a 7 year console cycle. People still went to JCP and Dillards and Party City but there was nothing to buy, this makes sense. It was the perfect time to close down stores.

Fallacy! And a common one at that! Particular sectors go through hype buying phases every single year whether the indexes are in bull or bear market. There are always opportunities. You won't catch all of them. It only takes a couple really good trades a year to beat the indexes and potentially make substantial gains. The main thing is you have to keep your risk managed properly so your account isn't bleeding out while you wait for the next thing to come around.
