Next price increase will be the release of layer 2 scaling of any type, potentially arbitrum in january. Shortly thereafter this new transaction volume capability will be saturated as well. I would have to assume that Sergey/Chainlink are trying to either buy out or bring onboard whatever actual working layer 2 tech exists so they can properly manage and develop it themselves. Or are developing their own which may be an absolute necessity given even the best other teams dont seem focused and capable of delivering, and seem to inject personal ideological points into their development.
