if you use a ledger wallet you are still ultimately trusting a company with the root data that protects your assets. it doesn't matter if it's 'cold storage', because if ledger's encryption is decrypted, they can have access to any wallet, so you are still relying on them as a company. as proven in the past few weeks, they haven't even been able to keep customer information private, as the data has been breaches. so why go with them over coinbase, who are much more legally accountable?
