As the ethereum network matures in one direction to get costs down, either through arbitrum or eth 2 or something else, running a node can actually be profitable in its own right and node operators won't need to be compensated with tokens from the dev fund. So eventually that selling pressure will be removed combined with the eventual additional buying pressure from staking
