The card game is a demo of the NFT trading/wrapping/farming platform, and they've started adding the cards as rewards for LPs

You can farm the cards in order to get rarer-tier cards, and the guys who farm the rarest 8 cards get to split a pot, which holds a grand total of like 10 ETH.

The point of the game is to demonstrate the new ITEM protocol, where now NFTs from a bunch of standards can be easily wrapped singly or in bundles in ERC-20, and traded/farmed/etc through any DEX. 10 ETH ain't much of a lottery.
