Can anyone explain this. I googled but they only talk about gaps during the weekend. It also doesn't explain the dollar amounts mentioned in this thread. What does "gap at 1900" even mean if the price of btc is over 18k.

I'm not asking to be spoonfed, but some pointers would be nice.

Spoonfeeding faggot here, traditional markets gaps have been considered continuation patterns. If you see a gap from over the weekend or some bullshit like that you're screaming in the pit to buy or sell 'cause that shit's going to keep goin'. In this market? Gaps seem to exist as point holders for locations that the trend is going to visit again. Find a CME gap anywhere on the daily in the past trend movement anywhere between now and the brick shitting pump to 20k, throw a horizontal ray on it, and follow that ray across the chart. You'll notice somethin' spicy. Nobody gives a real fuck about gaps below the daily, though. Those are just retards injecting that hopium.

That'll explain to you why people have been licking windows about the gap currently on CME of bitcoin's chart at 9600-ish. That bitch is a looming steroided out muscly faggot with a spiked bat starting at the grazing bull.

Gaps are a meme, no different to other meme lines.
>WAAAAA GAPS ALWAYS FILL
Yeah no shit, price go up and down to gap ranges because its volatile, not because its magically attracted to gaps. At least meme patterns like double tops tries to capture market psychology.
>price peaked. Price peaked again at exact point, showing market doesnt have buying appetite past peak price
Gaps are worse than fibbonaci levels. If anything gaps would say "shiiieeeettttttt demand so high at 9600 market quickly skipped through that level" but no, horoscopers somehow think the opposite

It's funny because I've noticed the weird price moves between Friday and Monday. Now I know the potential cause.

That said, I agree with you that if the weekend gap isn't filled on Tuesday, you can ignore it. Anything beyond that is just random volatility.

There is a measurable shortterm effect on the price between Friday and Monday though. I backtested it, and for the last 23 weeks, the Monday price always ends up close to Friday price, even if there were big swings in between.

Random volatility, CME gap or low volume; I don't know what causes it but it's consistent enough to take it into account while trading.
