Ledger doesn't text people asking for a withdrawal you retard, they don't have access to your funds if you stored them on an actual ledger device. All a hardware wallet does is securely generate and store a private/public key pair. If this isn't bait and you think your funds are at risk from a text message you have no business being in crypto because you clearly don't understand the most basic concepts of it.

I have a dumb phone. Was smartphone user for years, I enjoy simpler life. Love my Old Nokia. Not much of a fan of technology, I'd use it more as a tool, but most smartphone users use their smartphones for entertainment only.

>> No.24363959

>>24363719
I have been pondering whether they are trying to fuck me by having me visit the link in the text message, thing is I have never actually used or stored anything in my ledger and haven't touched it in literally years. If ledger did actually send a text warning about a suspect withdrawal request (perhaps by a bot?) then I should be able to see any such withdrawal from my account or on the Blockchain explorer, but I can't find any history in the app itself. Still I don't know how ledger works as a company and whether the app would send such messages for blocked suspect transactions I'm half panicked because if it is true I could have a fucked ledger or some shit. I mean if they know my number wouldn't it mean that ledger was at the very least hacked and their information about me is online?

This is exactly what happened, ignore and delete the text its a scam, like I said- they do not have access to the funds on a hardware wallet, the only way someone can steal funds from a legitimate ledger wallet is if you either A: compromise your seed phrase like a retard B: update the firmware from a fake link in an email/fake website
C: install fake ledger live software from a fake website/email link that switches the address you're sending crypto to and YOU FAIL TO CONFIRM ON THE LEDGER HARDWARE WALLETS LCD SCREEN THAT YOU ARE SENDING TO THE CORRECT ADDRESS

I have never used a ledger, didn't know what it did, my info and password are definitely leaked though because it had my name on the message and the phone number. I've never received a phishing attempt, pretty cool to be honest, thanks for everything
Also Nokia phones are great, the only smartphones worth it are rugged phones like those that Cat sells

Some phones can spy on you more easily and more frequently, if the police wants to know my daily path through lte antennas they can, however I don't have 60 bullshit applications that can connect and send information to 4 different data brokers while Google collects every single key I type in Gboard on the side with that phone
