While these regulations would likely just drive NPC's away from crypto and possibly drive down the price they also have a silver lining. Something like this could be the catalyst for BTC and fiat to completely decouple and eventually a completely separate BTC economy emerges. This is what needs to happen

On the other hand, it could be the catalyst for heavy adoption for investment funds and such. This kills the ethos of Bitcoin while making it palatable for legacy institutions.

Do these idiots not understand you can literally create paper wallets with a pen, paper, and no computer? You start with a random string and then encode it. It's not fast but it's not very hard either, and the result will be a legitimate Bitcoin address that can be sent to.

Do these idiots not realize that banning personal wallets is banning math?

Bitcoin is getting cucked by derivatives and fractional reserve banking. KYC and such is just the excuse needed as to why you cannot withdraw to the underlying asset and transact on-chain. Bitcoins in custodial wallets will be staying there.

Normies are gonna be stuck in a centralized parody of Bitcoin with however many "Bitcoins" circulating as necessary to push the price down compared to Fedcoin.

>> No.24318455

>>24318065

Too bad the blockchain is publicly auditable by anyone at anytime. Fractional reserve banking doesn't work when the reserves are transparent. Any company which can prove its reserves will have a distinct advantage over one which refuses to do so.

Coinbase has been fractional reserve trading. When they run out of coins they have an exchange error and go offline. They have to either buy more cryptos from other exchanges or create some FUD that either lowers the price or gets people to deposit more coins on the exchange. That's why you saw the exchange go offline during trading the other day and that's why you saw the FUD about the government banning private wallets. They want you to deposit in Coinbase so they can keep trading 10k Bitcoin for every 1k Bitcoin in real deposits. The only way to stop it is a bank run on Coinbase, then we pump to 100k.
