I go into a restaurant to order pancakes. When my order comes, I'm told that I have already accepted the ULA for the pancakes by ordering them, the text of which is publicly available at the restraints site.
The ULA states that I have to eat the pancake at the restaurant, I cannot reverse engineer the recipe for the pancakes, and I cannot take the pancake to go and eat it anywhere else.
I can leave and find another restaurant, but every restaurant has similar terms.
I cannot order blueberry. Only one restaurant made that and they aren't making it anymore but they still own the rights.
Even if I did have the money to develop my own recipe for pancakes, I can't legally develop blueberry pancakes and if I made something close, I better have a lot more money to defend against the copyright lawsuits that the breakfast restaurant cartel brings against me.
I either give up pancakes, pay and follow the rules but never eat blueberry pancakes again. Or I become a pancake pirate and quietly eat my blueberry pancakes hoping I'm never caught.
