Just got hired at a new job. I lied about:
>GPA
>How long I was at my previous companies
>my job duties
>everything

who else here /fraud/

>> No.23840552

Left my old job because they wouldn't let me move up without a degree. Lied about having a degree to get a better job at a different company. Said company just got purchased by the company I used to work for that didn't let me move up without the degree. 1:1 transition to new role with even more pay.

Fuck credentialism.

I'm trying to, but just the bare minimum like finishing hs level education so I'm even considered...
Going slow tho.. I can barely find the energy to apply
Have lost jobs being truthful before even though I could easily do them..

When I lied about having a degree it went like this:
>Put degree on resume from school I attended, but dropped out if
>Company uses third party verification of credentials and other admin tasks for hiring
>Third party calls me "Hi Mr Anon, we have some questions about processing your application. Do you have a degree from X University?"
No, I went to X University from this date to that date, but did not graduate.
>"OK, sounds good thank you."
>Get the job

I never heard about it again. Maybe they told my new company and they didn't care, or maybe they figured it was a typo on my resume. Who knows? Part of it will be luck, various CEOs eventually got fired after being discovered years after the fact.

This shit makes me feel retarded for actually getting an EE degree. I faked a drug test for a Fortune 200 but never lied about other credentials.

Nothing can happen to you when you lie except if they find out you won't get the job right? I know spoofing a federal drug test is a felony but lying to private or publicly traded employers will not get you criminal charges - you just might not get the job if they find out.

It's difficult for me to believe that companies don't do background checks (at least for positions that actually matter). Entry level jobs are a toss-up since most of your college education won't be relevant and they'll have to train you on the job anyways.

I’ve done this multiple times. I’ve also even made a fake website for the fake company I worked for.

I'd def try this if i was younger and desperate, i knew some guy at a construction site i worked at and someone told me he admitted he lied about having experience, it was driving a small dump truck around so you'd have to atleast know how to operate a truck which isn't too hard to find out, but it all made sense once i found out because watching him work he'd do some weird things, but people would just berate him and eventually he learnt how to do the job, he made it like a year before getting fired and that was only because he ran a stop sign twice infront of a manager, so pretty dumb, if he hadn't of done that he was going alright, and your first few days are spent just doing inductions and site tours, which are fully paid so worst you get sent home with a few days pay and some actual job experience.

Based. Doing this next job for sure

Question: if they ask for any proof is it illegal to fake it?

Most Government jobs, even shit tier entry level ones, have perjury type qualifiers. They almost never prosecute unless sensitive info was accessed, even then they just usually blackball you

Yeah it was. I got a high paying job. I ended up hating the job though so I quit but I’m looking for another one using the same strategy.

Kek, I did this too. Hosted free on github pages. $8 domain name from namesilo. Then i made up a bunch of random people on the "about our team" page and put them as my references. I even published a shitty android app under that company which was basically just a calculator written in java, and claimed it as my personal initiative in the company and they gave me awards for it.
