Is Etherium a viable alternative to bitcoin? Will a single Etherium ever rise above a thousand dollars?

ETH will flip BTC and become a household word within a few years

this
and we already came close to seeing the flippening, but it didnt happen because crypto isn't money, it's an asset, and bitcoin fits the new narrative better.

Viable as a financial infrastructure compliant with international regulations (which it is not at the moment, Shyft will change it)

PoS+sharding is better a decade late than to sit around and do nothing like BTC

in 10 years i will still be baiting methheads with casper delays and btc may actually have signature aggregation by then

considering beacon chain launches in a few weeks and phase1/1.5 are largely already completed, i wouldn't count on it

Unpopular opinion: wbtc on eth has a better chance of flipping eth than eth flipping btc at this point.

It's different, BTC is valuable as storage of value, ETH is valuable because it's becoming the adopted blockhain. It's cute that other blockchains have some defi implementations ad suck but ETH is gona be th only oe seeing serious enterprise adoption. This shit's gonna be the Amazon of crypto.

Biggest difference in my opnion now is that bTC has less upside but it's safer, ETH could in theory fail if 2.0 would completely crash beyond repair at release or something like that (I consider that really ulikely, but bTC is basically undisputed as the digital store of value).

ETH being staked and used more could make it's use as storage of value better and better, so a flippening might happen. I think it will never surpass BTC, but that f.e. BTC will grow x 3 and ETH x 8 or so over some years so more upside

if ethereum isn't then it's certainly possible that bonded is since it can essentially mimic the BTC value with bonds to other assets. at least that's how I got it

Etherium wont do shit. It wont even exist.
Ether will go to $5k this cycle though. Full Ethereum 2.0 will make Ether an even better SoV than Bitcoin, based on deflation alone, and this is even before factoring in the EIP-1559 that so many anons are wet about.
Non-stakers and Bitcoiners will get their share continually diluted by new coins (inflation). Those willing to put in some work will stake their coins and get their share of the supply ever so slowly increased (deflation). Inflation and deflation is all that matters, that is why Ethereum will be the future.

LN will reach 2k BTC locked in by 2025. OOOOOOOOOOH. Ship it.

I'm pretty sure ur bullish but im not sure. but yeah tokenomics is unironically a big deal, considering BTC's main draw is its capped supply. PoS incentives simply annihilate pow

tBTC is raising their limits every week. In about a months, they will raise their cap to the full 21M tBTC. Most of wBTC will then migrate over to the superior tBTC.
Thing is, tBTC needs an overcollaterization in ETH. So it would literally be impossible for tBTC to flip BTC before ETH.

>> No.23698305

ETH 2.0 is vaporware and ethereum was never needed as bitcoin by itself is turing complete. BTC is now a high fee shitcoin. Bitcoin is being traded with the ticker symbol BSV.

Why would you buy an inflationary coin if you can hold your wealth in Bitcoin? It doesn't make any sense.

Indeed, ETH is trying to be relevant going forward. BTC is not. Two very different use cases.

tBTC looks promising but it will never get close to that 21 million cap. It will be competing with wbtc, renBTC, polkaBTC, the base chain itself, and others. The fact that BTC will be tokenized on multiple smart contract platforms makes BTC the superior collateral.
