I don't usually post ever but I have a legitimate financial question, hope I'm not retarded:

My landlord wants rent deposited directly into his bank account, provided account number and Zelle email address.

Says Zelle is free and available through every bank. I bank with a medium size credit union, we don't use Zelle (I checked). I don't have options for external transfers without him having to sign up for something which he won't do.
Tried using Zelle app with his phone and email but he's not signed up to get it that way.

Do I need to use a 3rd party to do a wire transfer? He uses BoA, they don't take cash deposits into others accounts. Guess I could get a cashiers check and bring it in tomorrow...

Am I missing something?

ive never met a landlord who takes anything but checks. Yea they cost money from the bank plus envelopes plus stamps so it sucks but thats how ive been paying rent for 20 years

your bank will usually give you a free emergency check for situations like this btw esp if you buy a book of them

burger banks dont just let you e-transfer anyone from any bank with just their email? what fucking year do you guys live in? I send my rent to my landlord using just his email every month, no extra stupid apps and his bank is some obscure credit union. Shit's cash, I literally haven't seen or talked to him since I moved in over a year ago, definitely 100x better than having to give your landlord physical cash or cheques.

must be literally the only country in the world left where you need either a 3rd party app or pieces of paper to transfer money to someone else's account...
