I've made 2 cents worth of ethereum mining this past hour and the hashes keep climbing as time goes on.
The 1080 ti is truly goat.

Not at all, not energy efficient and cost too much relative to their hash rate. Get 8GB RX480 or RX580 gpus. They have the best profit/cost ratio.

I have 1 rx5700 xt for gaming/mining when not in use and 4 rx 580s for mining solely. The 580 can handle skyrim fine, but if you can only get one, then a 5700xt. It has a better ETH hash rate than a 1080ti and is affordable.
