Depends how deep conspiracy you want to be. If you can keep people constantly "activated" against the other side of politics you can sow discord and instability. I'm sure the same thing happens on left wing internet sites, I just never go there so I never see it.
One thing that's really conspicuous is you'll get /pol/ bait posts of, say, some trans person saying something fucking retarded on twitter, but the post will only have 1 or 2 likes. So either the people posting it made the post up as a fiction, or they have some extremely sophisticated web scraper that picks that stuff up as soon as it's posted. Either way, it's conspicuous social engineering.
