Based entirely on my gut instinct I bought around $50k worth of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) stock when it was around $2.10-ish a share. That stock recently spiked at like $92 a share. They have so much money that they don't really care. You think it's stupid, and I'd agree, but this is exactly the reasoning for why there are so many empty retail spaces in NYC. Nobody gives up, they stubbornly hold their position and refuse to lose even if they're literally losing money. They get to the point where they'd rather risk gambling out the long game for a win rather than cutting losses. Smart money has gotten so much money that they don't give a fuck. Again, it sounds stupid, but for reference there are huge retail spaces in NYC vacant for literally half a decade collecting NO rent under that duration - and the owners of those properties will never fucking lower their rent prices because they'll hold out for a bank or something to hopefully move into those spaces. I don't understand how they manage it, losing so much money and not giving a single fuck, but they do...
