Well, when my wife and I went to London a few years ago we had her smart phone along just in case, but didn't really need to use it. I spent quite a while checking out maps of the areas we were going to visit and I just sort of memorized a lot of it. Had a paper map too.

When I go to other places within the US, like a city I'm not familiar with, I look at map ahead of time. And we have my wife's cell phone if necessary.

As far as shops, that scenario has never really come up. I mostly just buy groceries or clothes in person. Most other purchases are online.

this shit makes no sense to me considering android phones are just as if not more expensive when you get into the note series. i had iphones 1, 2 and 4. 4 was a pretty solid phone but after that i switched to the note3 and never looked back. Also, i dont get the need to upgrade a phone every year.
