I'm the guy from the homeless shelter (someone suggested I should put on a trip) and I bought my first GME call (1/15/21 15c) and I want to see why that option's price has changed as movement towards $15 for GME has slowed down considerably and reversed since last week.

Somewhat, because they're the primary demographic. They pick up trends faster because they're the first ones to get advertised to. Algorithms will flood their feeds with ads, and there's also a large population of really stupid people who don't realize that their favorite instagram/tik tok/FB star is straight up marketing when they make a new post showing off their hip new purchase.

So I guess it's less that they're good at "identifying" the trends and more that they're good at being the first ones to fall prey to it. Also they're in a race with one another to be the first one on the trend before it goes out of style. Advertising and marketing isn't a meme - there's a reason corporations spend so much on it. People like us most likely use adblock and don't follow ((((influencers)))) so by the time we see it, it's already been marketed heavily.
