FedEx and UPS have similar earnings and analysts have them making 2x less than Fedex...LMAO. Last earnings were nearly identical.

Let's see here, Prime Day/Black Friday/Christmas and they're going to charge shippers more this shopping season? Why the fuck are you not buying truckloads of UPS & Fedex?

It's an easy pickup. UPS earnings will blow forecasts and it'll go up 15%+ and ij the future the holiday shopping season will make them boatloads of money.

Enlo Frends

Tell me, what are your impressions of the market as of the close Oct 9, 2020? Was I right to cut my losses on half of my UVXY? Should I have bought double the TQQQ and SOXL that I picked up during the dip?

My life fell apart the last 8 weeks or so, and this last week has been pretty bad, so I'm out of touch with the market BUT I have a renewed sense of need for making that paper. I am motivated to hit the books and the gym and the paper trading.

Yaya! We believe in u! No real advice besides indices this week were pretty bullish and remained so thru close. Lotta risky soon tho! DXY kinda looks like it's finna find support at the big volume where it is now and could break up on election uncertainty. No matter what happens during the election at least there will be certainty (after the constitutional crisis) so then DXY back down goldies up, equities up :o

I don't think hyperinflation is the right word. When I think of hyperinflation I think of Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollar notes. Currently the target inflation by the Fed is above 2% but we are still below that number. Everything is being corked right now due to politics but after the election, one way or the other we are going to get some kind of stimulus package it's really just a matter of how much, and how often.
The Fed's economic outlook is around 5 years for a 'full' recovery so that's a signal a lot of jobs aren't coming back anytime soon.
If Biden wins the election we are going to see a ton of spending money we don't have aka Fed printing. That will be good though because it will pump all of our bags and it will get a lot of people working.
If Trump wins we will see a smaller package, probably direct payments, minor unemployment assistance, and some spending on infrastructure just not as much.
We just have to be patient and accumulate until then.
Also, don't waste your time on REITs, buy FNGU/TQQQ and BTC really no point in owning anything unless it has the potential to go 100%+ ROI yearly

You might be able to avoid the worst in a housing crash if you invest in a more specialized REIT.
AMT for example is, I think, the biggest REIT around and owns primarily "wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure". CCI is the nation's largest provider of shared wireless infrastructure.
EQIX specializes in Internet connection and data centers. DLR similarly invests in carrier-neutral data centers and provides colocation and peering services.
There are other REITs that focus on storage space or logistics (PLD, PSA).

I would expect that even if there is a housing crash, those type of REITs wouldn't be affected nearly as hard.

Debt deflation first. Returns on investments go negative. Bearishness spreads and no-one can raise working capital. You get a cascade of business failure proportional to the leverage of the economy. THEN you traditionally get inflation as the government prints to cover its needs as the tax base shrank. Thing is, modern economy is so leveraged I'm expecting a blink-and-you-missed-it window for inflation as the debt is so massive and like in 2008 eg Goldman can demand printing to "bail out" their counterparties so they don't take the hit. The current derivatives market is some 400 times 2008 levels, so a reset is more likely going to happen with the government picking winners and losers.

We're currently in a deflationairy environement. The stimulus is like a booster shot of inflation that wears out.

When it's around 2023-2025, we will start seeing signs of hyperinflation. The fed will then counteract it with interest rate hikes and the whole system collapses...and then they back off again, just like in 2018....They will have figured out that they're caught in a trap. QE has prevented them from raising interest rates without catastrophic economic damage.

...At least IMO...

The data indicates otherwise, however. Digital sales have surged while physical sales have remained stagnant. It is possible that the next generation, with even stronger digital content ecosystems and covid-induced shifts in behaviour, can cause physical sales to decline. From the perspective of a gamer, digital also offers the advantage of preloading, meaning that you can start playing it right on release unlike physical disks. The subscription models offer fantastic value even versus playing and then trading in disks. While I do believe that the shift to digital is overstated by bears (hence my long on GME), in the long run Gamestop will have to pivot to survive.

I can download a 100+ GB game in under 30 minutes cause my internet is not trash. The downside for digital is you can only install 6 or 7 games if they all have 100+ GB sizes. Physical is not going away till they release consoles with 5 TB of HDD space or more. My friends that play consoles by anywhere from 10-20+ games over the life of their console, but that's anecdotal.

Hey I'm not gonna deny digital is superior in terms of pc gaming, but that is not the case for consoles as of yet. I can simply go out and buy something stupid like 32 TB of HDD space for my pc and never have to worry about space ever again, but you can't do that for a console. Neither of the next gen consoles even have 1 TB of HDD space and some games have retarded size requirements. Again, if you actually take care of your shit none of the things you said will ever happen. If you live in an area where people will rob your games then I am sorry to hear that.

A vast majority of people on youtube post clickbait because finance videos on youtube pay the most per viewer compared to educational or car videos. He has decent opinions and he's made me laugh of more than one occasion cause of how based he is. He's not some option moon boy and pulls profit after 1%-6% gains. It obviously sounds small, but he trades for a living and I think he's up a total of 160% on the year thus far. This year alone he's profited on over 90% of his trades he's made.

I've posted this before a few weeks ago and received some good responses, but would like opinions from weekend /smg/ because it has quality discussion.

I'm 33 years old, married, and with a first child on the way. I have zero investments but make enough to comfortably support my family with my single income. Here's my plan:

>Company 401k matches up to 3%. Contribute 3% and put it 100% into SPY (their equivalent of SPY at a 0.25% expense ratio)

>Max out HSA contributions at $7,200 per year. Set aside what I think we will need for medical expenses and child care. Invest the rest 100% into SPY.

>Max out Roth IRA at $6000 per year. 50% QQQ 50% SPY, or 100% SPY.

>Brokerage account on Charles Schwab. Higher risk tolerance and receives any leftover capital. 50% SPY and possibly 25/25 QQQ/SOXX or 50% SPY and 50% ARKK.

I don't have to work my entire life and want my children to inherit the bulk of these gains. What do you think of this plan?

>50 hour EMA above the 200 hour EMA
>price gets at/near the 200
>buy some
>prepared to buy more at 4x/8x/16x the ATR below the 200

anyone else do this or just me? backtest it some time, it's amazingly accurate, especially on shit like QQQ or SPY etc, or just blue chips in general. you could say you'll exit if the 50 crosses below the 200 while in the trade but honestly even there i've found most of the time, excluding biblical shit like 2008 or the covid crash or dot com crash (once in a decade shit that will probably be extremely obvious if you don't live under a rock and actually check the news once in a while or talk to literally anyone ever), if you just fucking wait you can at least get break even or a small profit on a bounce because even during the covid crash you can clearly see there was still dip buying on the way down, it wasn't a straight line or anything. except under those extreme circumstances you can honestly just wait. you can do this on the daily time frame too, the 200 hour and 200 day MA's are extremely well respected by institutions, 50 to a certain degree too but 200 especially is a huge deal to tutes on those timeframes.

i also want to look into how well buying or shorting outside of OI walls works but i don't know how to get historical data on that, though i've been taking some screenshots the past couple of weeks so i have a bit of data i can look at. anyways, it's weekend /smg/ time finally, so, is anyone down to talk strategy in detail? im curious what ideas you guys have and how much success you've had with them so far.
