Let's compare Chainlink to the most overvalued company on earth: Tesla.

$TSLA has a PE ratio of 1094X, that means Tesla is valued at 1094 x quarterly earnings. For reference, Apple has a 35X PE ratio.

If Chainlink had the same valuation as $TSLA, they would need to be earning $8.2M from the consumption of their APIs every quarter. Do you think Chainlink is pulling in anything close to that much profit given all the overhead? Seems doubtful.

If Chainlink only makes $800 (and even that might be an overestimate) they could be a WHOLE ORDER OF MAGNITUDE more overvalued than $TSLA which means the price could fall by 99% and still have a 100x+ PE.

There is a typo in your post.
You meant to write undervalued.

No one outside og BIZ knows og cares about ChainLink.

ChainLink just hit mainstream 1½ month ago and could barely hit 20 USD. Now it's trading at 8,5 USD, and will most likely dump continously the next couple of months, exactly like every coin with the same pattern has done.

If mainstream and FOMO could barely get ChainLink above 20 USD, who do you honestly think will pump your bags to new highs?

I am sorry to inform you that the possibility of a new ATH is very slim.

it never hit mainstream. It got top 10 on coinbase. That's like noticing a piece of gum on the sidewalk. It hit 20 because some insiders knew that sergey had closed presentation with fidelity, who manages 3 trillion in assets. Once scaling is phased in for defi, there's going to be a summit equivalent to mount Everest for anything that's L2 focused.

It did. Bloomberg tweeting about ChainLink, Twitter all over ChainLink, Reddit joining in on ChainLink, various Facebook-groups joining in. This is considered mainstream.

I admire your positive outlook on ChainLinks future, I just don't agree with you.

I will invent a time machine. It will be the most revolutionary invention ever. I will make a company for it and it will gain a $100 billion valuation instantly. But because I won't make any profit you're saying that the company is worthless?
ChainLink is just as revolutionary as a time machine, if not MORE.

mainstream is when CNN or jim crammer actually talk about it. Google CNN chainlink. it doesn't come up. it did that for BTC during the whole bullrun. Ask an average person what chainlink is, then ask what bitcoin is. That's what mainstream is. Having two subreddits dedicated to chainlink (their main chainlink subreddit has less than 24k subscribers. That's more akin to this board) isn't close to mainstream.

agree to disagree, but chainlink is going to boom, I work in a patent law firm and the amount of patent applications that have started to go into blockchain is booming. defi is coming once it's actually scalable. we're running on ethereum which manages 14 TPS, scaling allows it go exponentially more than that. Eth 2.0's phase 1 hits 100k TPS. anyone with a moderate understanding of this can see where it's going.

we pumped from 40c to $4 (x10) on THREE pieces of news delivered across about 6 weeks (mainnet, Google, Coinbase). We went from $5 to $20 (x4) on nothing but meme line TA, no news whatsoever. IF we get a barrage of good news again (e.g staking + another big name company, + some usage) then we could easily do a x5-10 again (~$100+). that's your next high

Chainlink as a business, generates less cash flow than a lemonate stand run by children on a weekend.

Crypto is basically one giant joke, and only a gambling vehicle.
