To the newfrens here who bought GME: don't expect the price to rise just because we are getting nearer to console release. That has been priced in since August (notice the increase in price even before Cohen). The reason why price is still low is because there is no guarantee that physical sales won't decrease further. And no, the fact that physical sales have been steady for the past generation doesn't mean that this new consoles won't push strongly for digital. MSFT and Sony have strong incentives to convince gamers to switch. Also, the squeeze is very unlikely to occur unless there is a surprise catalyst - institutional money is not dumb enough to maintain a short position otherwise. If you are in at high prices, don't be surprised if it dumps after the console release or Q3 because many others will have the exact same idea as you to sell at that point. That is the reason why smart money is still holding on to their shorts. Any price increases will come due to management and Cohen actually delivering on their promises, as this is not priced in yet. I'm not trying to FUD, but just offering a word of caution as I really don't wish to see anyone get destroyed for FOMOing into a meme at high prices.
