Say at some point XRP hits a certain price in USD at which you want to "cash out" into fiat.
How would you do it?
Coinbase pro has a starting withdrawal limit of $25k per day. Kraken Pro has a $10m daily limit but how many millions of dollars they store for people to actually withdrawal is a mystery, iirc.
Do you phone UBS (or any other swiss bank) in the Bahamas, Zurich or Singapore and tell them that you have some XRP to sell them?
Sorry, these might be the faggiest of questions but I really don't know.
Any ideas?

Go to a reputable asset manager - BlackRock, JPM Asset Management, etc.

They’ll want your business and will talk you through cashing out in the most tax efficient manner. They will have access to exchanges that we don’t have access to.

You should not be cashing any reasonable sum of money out without first seeking professional financial advice.

Move a large part over into Tether (and usually collect some sort of interest on that) while beginning the process of moving 10 to 20k a day. My bank only allows me $7,500 a week. I imagine I could get them to increase that limit though.

If you are worried about leaving crypto on an exchange after it moons, then buy a ledger and move some of it onto there.

No problem. Just one thing to add: in my opinion the crypto space is immature and it’ll remain immature for a while. Even the largest of crypto exchanges look and (to my mind) feel like two bit operations. I would certainly look to legitimise my holdings, either through cashing out with the help of an asset manager or seeking established banks (not Kraken) that are offering custody services, as soon as possible after the switch. When XRP enters into the light of the mainstream, I would certainly advise going with it.

I actually think it may be an issue when the time comes. Or rather, not an issue as such but a practical fact. If you’re looking to cash out large amounts, I don’t expect the liquidity to be there on the exchanges we have access to. I don’t believe for a second that any decent bank will be using CB/binance/etc., for liquidity.

I nonetheless don’t think it’ll be an issue because I anticipate we’ll have enough options: cash out slowly, act through an asset manager (who will have access to bank exchanges), deposit in a reputable bank and have them convert for you... and so on and so forth.

It’s a valid concern in the sense that yes, liquidity at exchanges might be tight, but not in the sense that it will actually matter.

Your recovery key is still backed up in a "paper" wallet (or likely, a more hardened physical material).

The ledger device itself is just a convenience for securely signing transactions. You can destroy it and start again as long as you have your recovery key.
