Here are obivious signs that a given project is a scam or a worthless meme 1-day PnD (some can make you profits but you have to be EXTREMELY QUICK), not ranked by order of importance :
>no website, or it's poorly made/copypasted, or it's two days old (you can verify this using who.is domain or archive websites like wayback machine)
>anonymous team
>social media presence is less than a month old
>no github
>low initial liquidity
>TG chat filled with moonboys, ESLs, pajeets, broken english
>threads made here bumped with unnatural replies telling you in an instant that they're from strangers
>etherscan showing a huge inequality with holders, like ten wallets holding 70% of the supply
>liquidity not locked

This should help you for the short term ones, at least. I'm not necessarily saying that anonymous teams or a recent social media presence are always signs of a project being a scam but they're risk factors that are worth mentioning. I've seen a scam pulled by French people who had almost everything on the above and pulled the rug in 15 minutes.

For projects surviving longer than two weeks, you'll have to ask yourself if the token really is useful or brings value, if they keep delaying features or development, look at the TG channel and see how the team manages people, etc. Sometimes with gut feeling alone you can tell that some thing's wrong but you have to stay alert at all times. I follow this rules, pass projects and they do 1000%. Meanwhile Im down 90% on "non scams". I seriously started considering suicide because it feels as if im "cursed" and no matter what the market moves against me. I have tried everything from blue chip stocks to degen defi plays, and no matter what I do I can never win. I have money in stocks/crypto that bleed and bleed and bleed, and they have gone on huge run ups within 1 or 2 days after I sell. At least on 5 of this occasions I could have been completely debt free and helped my aging parents with their mortgage. I think I have a spiritual blockage when it comes to this. Im praying every day for clarity and still waging and still trying because this is the only chance in life I will have at "making it". It hurts anons, it hurts really bad and I know its a sin but thinking of suicide brings me temporary happiness because I want to fall asleep and never wake up. Only a small part of me says to go on and keep on struggling because if youtube ecelebs can make some money off crypto so can I

Yes go ahead. Im not prideful, I read books about investing and watch videos about things I dont understand and thats the only way I have sort of learned about what blockchain is how options work etc. But that's what I mean - I listen to the "smart" people telling me to avoid get-rich-quick mindset and do it only to see anons making 1000% gains or more on meme food tokens. I have tried it all and while I have made some successful trades overall im deep in the red - with my long term holds and short tem swings. No matter what I try it just doesnt work out which is why I say it feels like a curse or spiritual blockage. Like I said there have been at least 5 times when I could have made more money than I do in 1 year in a trade, and every of those times I have sold literally 1 or 2 days before it blows up. And the ones I decided to "hold" obviously kept bleeding down and never recovered. Its almosy like a joke the 5th time it happened I just started laughing because it really feels like a great cosmic joke. I know "most traders lose money" but I also know a ton of people have made lots of money on crypto. I see pajeet scams that are all about scamming others be rewarded with huge gains while I get fucked on all my positions over and over. I hate to sound like a whiney cunt but its really fucking painful makes me feel like im the worlds stupidest trader and as if the universe itself is telling me to quit. Ive been at it for over a year sooner or later my luck has to change right? On top of that ive had really bad medical luck and had a few stupid freak accidents result in having to get 3 different surgeries. I used my free time to read and learn more about crypto but soon i will have to return to a high stress job that just keeps getting worse. My family is the only thing that stops my suicide because I dont want to cause them so much hurt other than that i have nothing to keep me going except that tiny little voice that says "keep trying to trade"

Here is what you need to know, don't trade, don't learn to trade and just forget ever actually trading to make money, you buy, and hold. That's it, it's a far better strategy for the average person
now the real question is what coins to buy.
Don't buy defi meme coins, you have a higher chance at losing money than winning the crypto lottery and winning big
