Wait a second. I live in the US.

Let's say I made 300k in crypto and want to cash out... I have to pay 115K in taxes?

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS? THAT'S MORE THAN a 1/3RD OF MY PROFIT.

No, you fucking children. Taxes are not profit, and they never ever were. Why the fuck do you think you get charged tax on your purchases from the store? So that you pay the tax up front and the store can calculate their profit AFTER that.

That's how it works. If you guys don't want to factor taxes for your yuge gains, you don't want to make money, period.

You need to look at this as a business, and as revenue, because revenue is what you get before you deduct costs to figure profit, and your taxes are part of your revenue, not your profit.

If you incorporated yourself before you started trying to make a quarter of a million you'd be able to soften the blow, but if you're gonna get pissy about having to send Uncle Sam his check, I SINCERELY hope you don't ever, ever, ever, EVER go into business for yourself or try to become financially independent. You're going to end up in prison if you want to piss your pants over a tax calculation, that any half-witted sno-cone salesman understands is akin to your product costs and upkeep.

Totally wrong, unless you're either buying only BTC/ETH directly and never exchanging, or if you're not American.

First let's pretend an easy 10% tax and ignore fees. If you buy $100 worth of BTC, wait for it to hit $200, then put that $200 entirely into DGB, and wait for it to hit $1000, then put that $1000 back into BTC and then fiat immediately, you have to...

1. Pay taxes on the $100 profit on holding BTC
2. Pay taxes on the $800 profit on holding DGB

So a total $900 capital gain, and $90 tax.

Now, in another case, let's say you buy $100 worth of BTC, wait for it to hit $200, then put that $200 entirely into DGB, and wait for it to hit $1000. Instead of cashing out completely, you hold $950 worth and put $50 back to BTC and then fiat. The exact same $900 gain remains, but now you only put $50 back in your bank account. Whoops, you're now down by $40, better hope that DGB doesn't suddenly crash!
