>work in respectable government job as my first full time one after university
>be me
>be today
>arrive at 9.30 am
>browse internet until 10.30 am
>read Demons by Dostoevsky until 12.30
>get sent piece of work a week after I asked if I could do it
>it's much less substantial or difficult than I was expecting, just basic excel monkeying
>answer an email
>go to lunch from 1.30 to 3.30
>do some of the excel work and realise how little there is to do
>check tennis results
>answer a small query at 4.45 pm
>leave at 5 pm

I hate being surrounded by normies but I can tell that I will regret not being happier in this job.

Government jobs are fucking gold

I'm in a similar situation. My job is ridiculously easy and I only do about 5-10 hours of actual work per week. The rest of the time is spent goofing off on 4chan. In a way it's nice because I get paid for not working, but in another sense it sucks because I have nothing to do during work hours and surfing the web gets boring pretty quick. I also feel like I'm sabotaging myself because I'm not adequately developing my skills or experience. I want to look for another job which will keep me busy and allow me to feel like I'm actually making a contribution and have a sense of purpose, but I also don't want to give up my current ultra-cushy position.

I'm in a very similar situation but I can barely handle it. Doing the same 4 excel things every day from 9 to 5 hurts your mental wellbeing. I dread going to work just to sit and browse youtube /4chan.

I just want to make a few million in dumb crypto, invest in a good dividend paying portfolio, retire as NEET by 30.
