Memes aside, the whole thing people spout in investing circles about "MUH SAVINGS IS USELESS, INVEST IT ALL, MUH INFLATION"

How much of it is true, vs how much of it is fear mongering fomo?

Additionally; why is keeping a decent amount of savings for emergencies where you dont have to deal with credit, and just rely entirely on your own money, really that bad of a thing?

Doesn't it make sense to have a safety/emergency fund that can cover your ass for 6-12 months, BEFORE you start investing? I mean, you can invest every dollar after you have that 6-12 month emergency fund.

Maybe I'm just very high inhibition, but it seems like insanity to have $0 in my savings account, and to just invest 100% of any money I get.

Saving is very important. Just save in gold and silver instead of fiat currency.

If you want to invest in gold and silver with the intention of making a large profit buy mining stocks.

If you want to keep your crypto gains safe from government money printing keep at least some of your savings in gold and silver

I get it. But at the same time. I just dont feel comfortable only keeping a few grand at max in my savings. It makes me feel naked.

I have $35k atm in my savings, which means I can go into my job everyday knowing I can just quit any moment, and I'll be okay for a good amount of time. If i only have $5k in my savings, or $1-2k, or nothing, it makes me feel anxiety that Im forced to be at my job.

I dont know if this makes any sense to normies here with extreme low inhibition.

better to invest it. longterm it pays off huge. literally only retards keep more than a very basic savings account. use credit to buy things, lower your expenditures to pay things off when you need to buy on credit, pay off quickly=minimal or no interest. invest, invest, invest. every penny you invest now is ten pennies when you retire.

Its 100% true. Real inflation rate using old CPI is at 8.50%. It means you lose 8.50% of your savings on a yearly basis. If you want to have savings you must leave fiat currencies and get gold and silver. It's the only option left.

meh. all the essentials of life (gasoline, food, utilities) are only 50% higher than they were 15 years ago. this would imply 3% interest.

yeah tuition, restaurants, a couple other things are more than 50% higher from then. but they are mostly optional

First start a Roth IRA. Second, start investing in an S&P 500 index fund or ETF and a Corporate Bond index fund or ETF immediately. Save up enough cash to cover three months of expenses and invest at least as much into your Roth IRA after taxes. Over time, as compound interest effectively adds months of expenses you can phase out more and more of your cash position by investing it into the IRA and accelerating your compound interest.

You can make other investments but the point here is tax advantages and dirt simple investing if emergency funds. You can withdraw all contributions tax free and can withdraw your earnings at a 10% penalty if you are not 59.5 years old which is a small price to pay when you are collecting tax free compound interest over the long term.
