The conctract is supposed to mint 100% of your principal so it should be like winning a long trade with 100% profit. After that it will be a race to the exchanges.

Depends on the smart contract. Some just lock up the tokens but Richard said that HEX tokens get burned after staking which shrinks the supply and raises the ask price. After staking ends the coins are minted again into the supply for you so you can cash them out.
