i could see the argument if they said they are going to stick with brick and mortar and try to boost e commerce. But the fact they are closing stores(maybe turn some of them into fulfillment stores)is a a good sign. They will be out from under leases and can use that money to expand an e comm presence. Is the wash sale rule something you “violate”? I have wash sale markers on several of my positions in Fidelity, I thought it only meant that if you sell at loss and then buy back in, you won’t be able to report the sale as a loss in your tax report, instead the cost basis of your shares go up, essentially giving you a postponed tax break (less profit to be taxed on when you sell in the future). I also thought if you sell again, still at a loss, you’re back to being able to report it as a loss for your taxes.

How did your guys' strategies evolve over time? When I started I just put $1,000 into a few ETFs my Aunt shilled me. The first stock I ever bought on my own was ROKU, and I ended up selling at a loss. If I had held ROKU until today (over a year) I would have made money. Now I'm gaining perspective. I've since sold all those ETFs I started with and have been swing trading stocks based on my own gut feeling and the minimal DD I know how to do. I've been doing alright, but I learn something new every day. First year has been fun, and I grew my portfolio 20%. But I know that I did it during easy mode.
