You got it anon. It has actually happened before.. I recommend reading into the hunt brothers and how comex walked away from the entire thing a winner.

Keep this in mind: the fines from the federal govt are far, far smaller than the profit comex makes from bringing paper price down. They can afford to do the crime, pay the fine, and walk away unscathed. As mentioned earlier, it has already happened before, and federal laws regarding this issue haven't changed since then, so it stands to reason they can do it/are doing it again.

You can still invest in metals by investing in miners. Be mindful though, because miner stocks are basically leveraged metal stocks. Which are leveraged on the comex (manipulated) price. Once the physical price completely decouples from paper price, miner market caps will directly reflect that (parabolic growth)

I go on this website and lie all day long. I make up stories about myself that are nowhere near reality. I enter threads and pretend to be a millionaire, a CEO, a professional investor, anything to give weight to the bullshit stories i make up. Using these fake personas I give people investment or business advice or make up outlandish stories about industries that I know nothing about.

In terms of lithium in mud/clay. Lithium in these types of deposits has very low Li content and you are going to need one hell of a conversion process, at I suspect at quite a large cost, to move the grades upwards to 6% spodumene equivalent input (and you are going to have to process a lot of clay for this stage to get there too btw), before putting it into the equivalent roasting process to produce lithium chemicals. Noting costs around removing deleterious elements. And quality matters in producing batteries is my point, especially if seeking to produce long range batteries.

Musk is playing a game of bluff here IMO by implying I will do 'A' if you don't give me 'B' inputs at an acceptable price. Bluntly, Tesla has entered into contracts/MOUs with hard rock players in the past so I suspect this is gamemanship by him here. Time will tell where he gets his inputs from I guess.

No, there's no need for a doom/gloom scenario to happen. Check the charts on miners from 2011, when gold hit it's ATH. Remember, the amount of physical metal in the miner's possession is directly correlated to its price growth.

Example: Miner has one million ounces in the ground. Price of silver moves up $3 per oz. The miner increased its gross profit by 3 million with 0 change to operating costs/liability costs. For many miners that could be anywhere from 50 to 500% increase in profit, which will be reflected in price accordingly.

Check the 2011 charts to see what I mean. You'll see several miners doing a BTC style parabolic moon mission, before going down as gold price was once again manipulated downward
