22645853 No.22645853 [Reply] [Original]

My one friend is a normie wagecuck who always asks me what I'm farming and what he should buy despite not doing any research himself didn't even offer to take me to dinner after he made 50k off my advice.

I saw him at a mutual friend's social gathering and he was telling people how HE made 50k and didn't mention me at all. He then later approached me and started pressing me for info but I just told him that I cashed out.

My other friend isn't in crypto at all but he was always a good friend to me so I told him I'd get him a present worth $5000 of his choosing because I made a bunch of money in crypto. Instead of accepting it, he said "Hey well since it's free money can you just give me the cash instead so I can invest it?" I kind of just avoided him after that.

My other friend would take me to dinner every week as his investment was rising in price. I am still telling him what to buy because he's not a greedy faggot.

Why are people like this? You want to help, and then they give you reasons to hate them.

Pic unrelated.

I've been in crypto since 2010 but generally try to figure out what the market will think is going to be profitable and buy in. In the lead-up to 2013, it was bitcoin. In 2017, it was alts. In 2020, it's DeFi. /biz/ is a good source of info if you can understand its culture and sort the shills from the gems.

I don't understand what's wrong with the gift friend anon. You're spending 5k on him already, and this way he's going to do something productive with it too.

Just curious, why does it matter what they do for you though? Why do you want your friend to take you out to lunch? Who cares if people think he made the money himself? Time will show he can't do it again otherwise. If you want credit, why would you want validation from normies? Who gives a shit what some idiot working 50 hours a week and can't pull his head out of his ass enough to take care of himself? You certainly shouldn't.

Because it's like you gave to gift someone a birthday present and they just said, "Here take back your birthday present and give me the cash you bought it with instead."

Dude. Friendship is one thing, but that's another. Don't ruin your friendship with gifts like that. Unless you're part of some elite cadre where that kind of money is nothing to you, a present that big would make him think you're a faggot trying to get into his pants or fuck his daughter or something. As a general rule, politics, women, and money are all things that have a high possibility of ruining friendships.

this mfer had the audacity to play that playlist in front of large groups of people and then call it HIS playlist, and then when we talked about it it was OURs. he added like 5 songs and took all the credit

but the "i picked a good investment for you so you should take me out to dinner part" is kinda weird ngl. very generous of your one friend, and the other two do sound like shitters, some gratitude would be nice i get it

I want to expand on this for anyone who is, perhaps, not clued in to what is happening now.

DeFi is at a bottle neck right now because of ETH hitting the hard barrier of the scalability issue (read about the blockchain trilemma). The next thing to truly do something like BTC and ETH will be some manner of solution to the throughput issues which is currently limiting the cryptosphere. Keep this in mind and notice how 99% of projects being shilled here fall laughably short from meeting this criteria, which is to say; they are nearly without utility at this moment.

You opened the can of worms, you have to be careful. Normies hear any amount of money over like 1k and think "I gotta get some of that". In the future, if you get a nice car or a nice house or whatever, just say it's a gift or that your company bought it or something. People go crazy for cash

Another thing to consider is that your friend might not really know how to react. He might have been in shock, and gone into overdrive overthinking it. He may have offered to do what you do to make your money because he decided the best reciprocity for your generosity would be to try and impress you.
Speaking as a profoundly awkward person, big gestures of kindness like that are surprisingly difficult moments. It's precisely because that need to repay and make a performance out of gratitude is so intense that people can over think it and act weird.

I've got guys like this too, one guy is into sneakers so each new one that he goes into to sell for more he offers us an entry and we take it and give him a kickback when he closes, got another guy who is the same for sports betting, another who does it with records. Gotta share 360 opportunities, its areal test of your people. You see anon, we are driven by different behaviors in life. I started learning about crypto in February. Seriously studying, at work, after work. I had to change my life because my girlfriend got depressed since they gave her a pm shift at work. She lasted a year, but it ruined her a lot. Crypto started paying off in August. I felt freedom and control over life. Of course, we continue to work, but I decide whether I want to go to work in the morning or in the evening. Their + £ 1 per hour of work makes no difference to me. On the other hand, in July, I signaled my father about investing in silver. He ignored me. Would have + 45% in a month. Friends just asleep when I offer them help and say that the crypto world is fascinating. Oh and shit, Anon, change the lives of only those people who are open and love you.
