I had this kind of thing but now realized it's just vanity.
I dedicated my life to writing and built my life around publishing a novel. Countless rejections but I kept going and today I got a publisher reply where they asked me to pay to publish. ie a scam. And I realized that I'm just a vain sucker like so many others whom they wanted to drain for money. That it's all shit.
Before that I always envisioned myself as a guy with a hidden plan. Now I realize I'm just some loser.
