Dividends are prone to fluctuations or changes while muni bonds literally just require that the agency in place can pay their bills. Get them in boring things like water treatment plants that every state and city in the country will never let run out of money.
Superior tax treatment too. And when a downturn hits, you can sell those bad boys for high premiums to "buy the dip" if you want. Dividends are fucking awful.
