You fucking faggots are going to lose your ass. CenturyLink has defrauded their customers for years JUST TO SURVIVE. They literally charge people for services that were not agreed to, or even provided. That's textbook fraud. So you think investing in a rebranded version of a company known to commit fraud to tens of thousands of its own customers, is a good idea? Lmao, they just realized how much easier it is to rip people off in crypto land... They can actually get away with it without getting sued into the fucking ground. I would not touch this shit with a fucking atomic bomb, fucking contain it off inside a black hole outside the edge of the known universe.

it's not really an interesting larp though
i mean the 4th IR includes a lot of different compartments

Basically all of the profitable parts of the company (enterprise, wholesale, professional/managed services) are being moved under the new Lumen brand

>> No.22487468

Lol, very close family member works for CenturyLink. This is a nothingburger. The over arching company is named Lumen now. Below that are sub-divisions, CenturyLink - Copper consumer business and Quantum - Fiber consumer business. It's likely that they're going to sell off one or the other of these business lines down the road and nothing to do with cryptocurrency. Both sub-divisions are structured to be independent companies and getting rid of one won't impact the other.

Sorry, dudes.

So we established it wasn’t a larp, the company did launch a rebrand targeting the 4th industrial revolution. I had some fun with the link connections based on the company name and branding. What I can tell you is the company is heavily investing in RPA and blockchain, specifically use cases for inter carrier settlement using a shared blockchain

you're correct about them being a first mover on fiber optics. also found out that centurylink apparently carries 75% of the worlds fiber traffic. This changes my perspective on how they could initiate change with blockchain. Akin to how railroads made bank with their existing easements for other utilities. CenturyLink built the railroad (fiber network) and is well positioned for new utility (blockchain) on their lines.

CentruyLink stock should jump quite a bit if they spin off the failing consumer business, but I wouldn’t expect that until at least next year. Keep and eye to see if they forfeit the CTL ticker symbol after changing to LUMN. If they hold on to it then they are likely moving forward with breaking up the company.
