What was it like holding link throughout 2018-2019 during the great crabbing? How bad was the fud?

The FUD was brutal.
t. Sold in Feb 2019 after holding for 18 months

>> No.22463000

It did not feel like crabbing at all. We had pumps and dumps on a regular basis and much more threads.

Maybe the time now between 12-15 will also be seen as a crab market in 1 year and just Looks like a straight line because price movents of 10usd up and downs will be normal.

>> No.22463064

>>22462919

It wasn't that bad because most of the time we discussed Link fundamentals and breadcrumbs etc. Now the Sibos dump in October 2017 was extremely brutal, because every other coin mooned while link kept on dumping.

>> No.22463069

>>22463000
Can confirm, LINK had frequent conference/event hype and price action at a time most other 2017 coins were in constant decline. The biggest FUD came from the monthly one-and-done pump-and-dumps.

FUD was nothing if you DYOR, 2018 was a great time to buy, personally I drained my savings account buying link through out that summer. A lot of us were watching btc moon in 2017, teenagers were millionaires and we were pissed we missed that rocket. Some of us saw link as our last chance to have a life. It was either link moons or suicide.

The fud is very effective for newfags especially the conferences in 2019. The "Fireworks in September" larp was heavily perpetuated. Honestly a newfag like myself at that time did feel demoralized. The fudders were incredible at toying with your emotions. Spam the boards with larps for nothingburger conference, said conference turns out to be a nothingburger, fudders spam the board and demoralize you. We still had some crumbs and good discussions back then so even brainlet newfags like myself felt comfortable in my investments from time to time. Unironically would have bought more link at lower prices if I got more involved in Twitter instead of /biz/ getting demoralized from time to time. We also had weekly/monthly pump and dumps if I recall correctly. The same tranny groups would come out and shill to cause fomo then they would dump and the fud starts all over again.

2018 during the bear market there was no fud, barely any. Every coin was shitting the bed and link fluctuated in its zone, there was no point fudding. Strong technicals discussed.

End of 2019 was the worst time ever to be on biz, non stop constant fud by either paid or the most genuinely bitter people I've ever seen. Like calling link a 4$ shitcoin somehow validated their decision to not buy at 20c. This got especially worse since the fluctuations were 4 to 1.5.

2020 and now the fud gets brushed off but the main fudders are gone due to obvious reasons.

Most new threads were link threads. There were tons of LINK price prediction threads and plenty of bread crumb threads. The dank memes and copypasta got me to buy and the dank memes and copypasta kept me invested. The breadcrumbs got me to buy more. I've been invested since oct 2017. STA is the current closest investment to LINK in 2017-2018 in terms of post/meme quality but the quality of STA threads is nothing compared to LINK threads. Truly. I'm shocked at the whole new generation of xrp bagholders who shill on here. There's an incredible mental acrobatics/ cognitive dissonance going on for them to never acknowledge or really reconcile with the fact that XRP is done pumping, and is literally back at pre 2017-pump levels. The fundamentals support a low priced coin. Heavy regular dumping by founders causing constant selling pressure, beyond the appeal of altruism there's literally no incentive for staking which would increase scarcity, and there's no incentive for anyone to hold it, as it's a momentary medium in fiat-fiat transfers. No holding, no speculation, no scarcity. It was meant as a back-end tool for banks; it's not meant to decentralize a service so average people can participate in it. This is no bitcoin or ethereum.

It's really sad to watch because they're so, so personally married to it because they think it's their one golden ticket to the good life that there's no way to talk to them in a critical, rational way. There's so much burying of heads in the sand among XRP holders on here.

It was fun as shit. We all got to accumulate 10k stacks and the best memes were born in that era. There were no nulinkers or faggots admitting to three figure stacks and acting like they actually mattered. It was genuinely uncertain if link would succeed, and each new piece of news was really important. I got to correspond with assblaster in his old threads. Link OGs like Helix and Damu popularized the Link army ranks. Wallet autism was in his prime. Armadillo started his charts. Also, we got to quietly increase in value while an entire generation of shitcoins got purged. It was absolutely fucking based and while It’s nice to be getting rich I wish I could still post to old biz.

As the value of each token in its "basket" fluctuates: LINK, ETH, BTC, BAL, STA, the pool automatically buys and sells the corresponding coin accordingly so that the value of your holdings goes up.

It felt pretty bad early because at the time in crypto my 10k USD life savings investment went from a high of $27k down to maybe $5k. Keep in mind I was extremely poor and grew up extremely poor by american standards. I could barely afford my internet and I was gambling my life savings. I was just worried I was out of that money forever. Fud was very brutal even though most of the time you knew it was false.

Link FUD now doesn't phase me. Fudders now have switched to fudding global economic crash instead because link has legitimized itself clearly, even to the morons.

Thanks, it’s not finished yet. I’m gonna put a LINK symbol in the lantern and have a 6-fold symmetrical mandala centered on it to fill the background. I think it will contrast nicely with the hatching style of the Hermit himself. I’ll post it when it’s done

There really wasn't anything worth buying at the time except for LINK. It was low, had good logo, good name, and it had Assblaster, along with half of /biz/. Imo 700k dumps were the most bearish think about it.

Since this is the comfiest thread atm (besides the sta shilling) I’ll ask here, if you’re me and you have only a 6500 stack, would you risk swinging at some point to try to double up, or you think it’ll be enough to make it? I’m comfortable taking until 2023 or 24.

I fud link sometimes still. My friend who bought some came to me one day and was like, dude the CEO is dumping on the market we gotta get out of this scam! Lmao. At one point we had a "Chainlink FUD: Greatest Hits" thread, probably like late 2019.

This. I don't understand how people got FUDded. For every bullshit thread shitting on Link, you had a couple others talking about the tech or a partnership some literal who announced or a breadcrumb that some autist dug up. You have to be adamantium leveled dense to ignore all this stuff and call Link a scam as all you had to do is lurk this site for more than a half hour. Everyday.

it wasnt that bad and it was fun buying something that we knew was 100% under valued. it honestly felt like nothing, we were just smoking hopium 24/7 but we knew it'd moon eventually.

I think Chainlink had just acquired Town Crier and there were some schizo Saturn threads on /biz/ that convinced me. Otherwise it was just negativity and more negativity

Use yield farming if you want to accumulate more link, the risk is then with the protocol and not necessarily with price fluctuations. I have 10% of my stack earning interest on yalink, I'll add more when the ylink vault opens.
