Hi anon, I was in your position back in mid August. There are some mistakes that I made that you should look to avoid, and I'll give you some tips that might help you get a foot into this market.

The first mistake I made (like many new investors) is FOMO'ing in without waiting for a dip. I bought my majority share in Bitcoin at 11,698 and while I'm not so sad about it because I believe bitcoin will go back past that reasonably soon, I could've gotten a lot more for my money if I was patient and waited for a dip like the one that happened last week.

Secondly I'd recommend diversifying your portfolio a decent amount, but keep the majority in the big players like BTC and ETH. One thing you should note about the market is that bitcoin is pretty dominant, so when bitcoin tanks the alts will tank (usually) and vice versa, so take dips like the one that happened last week as nice opportunities to get in on some alts and diversify your folio.

Hope it goes well for you anon, and welcome to the crypto market

I'm from Australia so my exchange of choice will probably differ from yours as I appreciate being able to deposit directly in my local currency. If by any chance you're in Australia too, I use the exchange Swyftx because of its low fees and spreads, after trying a couple of other Australian exchanges like CoinSpot, CoinJar and of course CoinBase (as they support aus as well). One thing I didn't like about CoinBase is that they don't actually let you sell crypto if you're an Australian, but they do let you buy. Interesting, eh?

I saw just now in a previous post you mentioned day trading, I'd hold off on that for a while until you have a bit more experience. I tried my hand at it when I was still green and lost about 50 USD lmao so I'm waiting until I'm more experienced to dip my toes back in the water, but maybe I'm just retarded and that's why I lost it.

Currently buying dips and having diamond hands is working pretty well for me though.

Depends where you live, in the US gdax (pro.coinbase.com) is your best option as far as CEXs, you will get ripped off on fees if you use coinbase. Binance is banned in the US but they have binance.us with a smaller selection of coins and no futures.

Have you traded before? Because you probably are better off just hodling than trying to daytrade.

im not from Australia, i will probably look into it more about which site to buy in with.
as for day trading you are probably right too. although my intention was to put 3k into some coins (still deciding which ones) and then just day trade with 100€ or so. my rationale was that if i can't turn 100€ into 200€ eventually, then obviously i can't turn 3k into 6k.

>>22454501
i have not day traded but as i said above in my post it was my intetion to only start wtih extremely small amounts (100€).

>100k by 2022
i don't know man. i never traded before but i followed the news abit and i remember people saying that in 2016, then in 2017 before it reached 20k in december and then fell off, it has been limping on ever since.
what makes u think it will reach 10x the price it is now in just 2 years ?

The difference between that 3k investment vs. the 100 euros for day trading is that the 3k investment should be a long-term hold. If the 3k is the majority of your portfolio, I'd recommend buying into some decent, established projects in the top 10 coins (e.g. BTC and ETH) and just hodl it bro.

I had exactly the same mentality, I put about 1k USD into my crypto experiment to invest in BTC/ETH and the likes and 100 USD to day trade, and lost 50 USD because im retarded.

Think of that 3k like stocks, if you buy into BTC or ETH when they're low, over time they'll appreciate at a decent rate but probably not as much as if you went all in on a shitcoin and got lucky. They're just a stable, comfy long-term hold, whereas you'd be buying and selling your 100 euro day trading amount all the time.

I wasn't sure if you meant new to trading in general or just crypto.

I remember the 2014 bear market and 10k was the target for the next moon mission, anyone calling 100k in 2016 or 2017 was just delusional. We just repeated the same ~2 year bear market cycle as 2014 with a 83% drop and double bottom followed by halving. Sure it's a meme but it's a self-fulfilling prophecy imo.

Aussie here. I personally think Coinspot is the best choice, despite their high fees and wacko spread. The money saved on gas to buy not-quite-shitcoins is too good to ignore

>> No.22455141

>>22455056
Hi anon, I tried Coinspot but I really think you should look into Swyftx. They have a 0.6% trading fee for buying and selling and their spreads are the lowest on the market.

Pretty sure they have a whole lot more coins listed too, for example you can buy RSR on there if you like as well as the big ones. They have a great mobile app and web API for automating trades and shit too.

Hate sounding like a shill, but compared to the competition they really seem like a far better deal.

Yeah. That was the original plan. The thing is i still dont know what else to spread those 3k into. Bitcoin for sure but i will have to figure out the others.

>>22454992
Maybe yes, but in 2017 people were shilling it nonstop all over the place. Thats why it rose imo. After the fall people probably became less trustful towards crypto, so i dont think it will be able to shill crypto again to such point as back then. At least not in 2 years time. Thats just my opinion though, if btc goes to 100k in 2022 then even better

Volume indicates this is the bottom of consolidation.
New accumulation will begin now at 14-20 Satoshis before pumping to 50+ sats during the next volume spike.

Some serious advice now:
If you begin trading, use a serious and reliable exchange, like Binance, Coinbase, or some other, as you please.
Dont buy some "moonshots" that are shilled here by bots or desperate bagholders. You very rarely find a true gem here. usually people want you to FOMO in a shitcoin that has already done a 10x in the past 7 days and which now has started to bleed, and they look for stupid newfags on whom they can dump their bags.
Don't buy into pajeet or chink coins. Ever. They are cancer and the chance that you experience a rugpull, exit scam or at least a P&D are 100%. You hear me? 100%
Don't buy when shit goes up, buy when it dips.
Don't swing around from coin to coin like a monkey on steroids swings from one banana tree to another. If some shit drops 10% it will also go up again 10%. Don't get desperate from minor losses.
DYOR, don't browse /biz/religiously, you may sometimes find good advice here, but most of it is shills, bots and shitposting. /biz/is the literal dog who had his day when they discovered Chainlink before most other retards did. That was a once in a lifetime chance. It has passed. Link will not be $1000 EOY, nor will XRP be $2000. Don't listen to deluded cultists.
If you want to make fast money, buy into one of the legit YFI clones, but be aware that this whole DeFi thing is a gigantic bubble which can pop anytime. You may wake up and see your portfolio having done a 2X. You may wake up and be justed.
tl;dr: don't FOMO into some random shotcoins, DYOR, better stay with the established coins that have an actual usecase, buy low, sell high.

learn big picture, general principles, you want to get a grasp of the "big picture"

follow smart investors who have been in the space for 5-10+ years, follow the OG's, listen to what they are saying

Here's all you need to spot a scam from a mile away on /biz/
>OP starts with a <100kb image
>promises, guarantees great profits and many "moons" on a literal new shitcoin developed by anonymous faggots
>Thread is full of people saying generic script lines like "Woah this is guaranteed 100x!" and "Amazing gem don't miss out!" "Thanks for this OP we're gonna make it"
>Full of "factory" made shitty memes, most commonly being pepe edits, or sluts with logos slapped on
>Pretty much nobody asks questions, and if they do, an "anon" will quickly dump walls of texts yet show nothing, everyone is wanking over how great and how it'll be the next antshare/btc/eth/whatever
Slam them straight into your filter list.
