Unironically pretty much every company is operating at less than full capability because of this. It’s amazing there aren’t more companies who have experiment with work productivity lifters like shortened work weeks. If you had the same job to do but only worked 2 days a week those 2 days would probably be very productive, maybe even more productive than the work you do in 5. Now take a concept like 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, 2 days off. The one day in between could be a recharge, but psychologically a lot of people would probably have something they want to get done before the following day and spend another 1-2 hours of free labor doing that.

How about just shortened work days?

How about we just talk openly about how nobody gives a shit about the company they work for outside of their paycheck, how do people behave when that’s out in the open and acceptable? Will people work happier and better just because they don’t have to feel alone? Will we collectively create a world where people don’t have to do the soul draining jobs This is why I work in robotics and AI, actually. I want people to not have to work their shit jobs anymore.
