Imagine buying boomer coin in,2020. Maximum kek.

The whole market it shifting to stablecoins away from BTC pairs. Only the centralized exchanges still have bots getting free money trading alts against daddy shitcoin's movements.
That free ride has 6 months left max, decentralized exchange with wrapped assets is the future and the chinks know it.

Why is there a camp then that believes it still has legs into 2022?

They live in a fantasy world where Bitcoin is seen as a store of value because of the mining hashpower.
They don't understand the core market dynamics that BTC derives the majority of it's value from being the accepted trading pair. It is like the US petro dollar.
When uniswap and lending platforms started absolutely owning centralized exchange volumes the writing is now on the wall.
Stacking sats is a boomer meme now.

I don't think the whales and big players are going to let bitcoin die as bitcoin is literally the driving force that gets people to pay attention to crypto currency at all.

Even if its value as a currency is laughable, it's the prime motivating force, literally the cheerleader of the entire cryptocurrency market.

There's no way it'll go away.

In my limited non-expert opinion, I could see Bitcoin either mooning to ridiculous levels in the next 5 years (like 100k+), or getting flipped within the next year or two and tanking -90% or more. It is the boomer coin, but if boomer whales decide they want to hold onto it, it will maintain its value.

No one with a brain who understands crypto and blockchain tech wants Bitcoin to be the #1 though

Appreciate the assessment. Is the best bet ETH then, as it is required in decentralized transactions?

I'm kicking myself because I didnt buy on that last huge dip, and it's been steady up from there. Just hesitant to put back in immediately after that volatility-- which will always exist, but I want a good entrance price
