Earning big boy bucks via AAVE + yearn

Considering shoving my entire 50,000 link stack into this magical yearn vault I keep hearing about on here it just seems like too sweet an opportunity
As far as I understand it the only risk is having my link locked up for a while if it flash crashes
Let me get this straight
Use zapper with my metamask to do the necessary moves to get my 50,000 link somehow deposited and converted(?) to yaLINK (aLINK?) for 40% per year the only major risk being the aforementioned lock up if things go south
Is this even any riskier than staking 50,000 link via a cex like Crypto.com because I just completed a three month term with them at 6% and they could theoretically exit scammed at any time however unlikely
Since aave and yearn are decentralised platforms this vault staking phenomenon is theoretically safer no? From reading these big brained threads I don’t understand why we all shouldn’t just but up and do this if we’re all holding long term anyway it seems like the future

I also want to put a large portion of my stack in and have enough passive income to not worry at all about $.
To my understanding though the code still is relatively new and something going wrong is possible. I think in the future it might be safer with insurance but I have not stayed up to date on that. Crypto.com sucks now with 3% on link

Looks like the real risk here is three potential points of failure on platforms that are still in their early stages which might be enough fud to prevent me from moving my entire stack into this
If only there was a way they could guarantee security I mean this is DeFi for fucks sake isn’t trustlessness the entire point
